Pictures are worth a thousand words.

The FGSW Club is hard at work in the school's computer lab, that has now been christened the official newsroom for the club on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. The students are 100% engaged. Phone calls are being made to various organizations and businesses to find information on the students' topics. Two nice new additions to the staff are preparing narrative writing based on creation and imagination instead of research.

I wish you could hear the banter of ideas flowing from one writer to the next and back again. Mrs. Brown made the comment, "This is like a real newsroom." And truly it is. We are constantly moving around, perfecting our work and preparing it for publication. The students are learning about deadlines and that these must be met for publication to occur.

This is one of the highlights of my day as a teacher to see students enjoying and working like the true professionals that they will one day become. Thanks Montgomery Advertiser for making this happen. This is really great.
