ART

By

Kyla Green

I will write about Art. There are two people I will write about, Bob Ross and Donna Dewberry. I will see what they use and how they use it. Why do they paint and make such beautiful pieces of art? Bob Ross’ show is “The Best of the Joy of Painting”. Donna Dewberry’s is “One stroke Painting”. They are wonderful artists. They have their own personal technique. I will see how we get such beautiful art from these talented artists. I want to see how beautiful art can be to others and the world around us.

The FGSW Club: Global Warming

by Portia Hunt

I want to write about global warming because I’m concerned about what will happen to our only world we’re able to live on so far in a few years to come. I want to know what people who can make changes are saying about it. I also to want learn what people are doing to help. I do ask myself “Why waste these beautiful, green, and colorful landscapes, exotic creatures, and other gorgeous things over something so easy to mend?” I love the Earth, others should too, because we are able to live on it and I don’t wish to loose it.

Number one topic: What’s happening to our
ecosystems?

What is happening right now to our ecosystem is that there are gases in the atmosphere that are dangerous to our climate and ecosystem. The earth is very vulnerable to those gases and acts as if it has a deadly disease. It will keep on getting sicker, unhealthier, and more helpless until eventually it practically dies.

More trees are being cut down, additional rare, common, and endangered animals’ habitats are being demolished, and more people are becoming unwholesome due to this madness.

Portia felt it extremely important to include this letter she wrote to the President of the United State of America

Dear President Bush,

Our world is coming to an end. And the question everyone is pondering is WHY? It is the cause of global warming. The kids of our world are speaking out because we are the generation of young scientists and astronomers.

We want to find a way out of this maze of, confusion, frustration, war, disease, death, violence, drugs, abuse, and many other things that are causing our world to become a living “Devil’s Domain”. You obviously see our state.

Alaska is falling apart because adults will not do a thing about this!!!

We shall not stand for this laziness and utter nonsense.

We wish to see the beautiful things life has in store for our young

lives to see with our eyes and generations to come.

We want to end global warming once and for all time to come.

We appreciate the things you’ve done so far to improve this world,

but with all due respect it just doesn’t seem good enough.

Saving the Rhino’s

By: Harrison Adams

I am interested in rhino’s because they are magnificent animals and I like their horns. They are also endangered and I want to save them.

Other people are interested in rhino’s because they are animals.
We can make a difference by saving rhino’s. That’s why people are interested because they want to save them. Many people care about animals. But are we destroying their environment?

(added 2/12/08)

There is a new baby rhino at the Montgomery Zoo that I am interested in! I am going to call the zoo and ask when it was born. I wonder what is the baby's favorite food. I am also wondering what section it stays in at the zoo? Maybe I can ask the zoo keeper what type of rhino it is and how old is it. The rhino’s skin is armor for them. I am in the process of calling the zoo.

I keep trying to call the Montgomery zoo but I think they are feeding the animals at this time. So I'm not giving up easily even though I can't reach them. I will talk about something else.

I am interested in their horns. This is what I know. Their horns are made out of kertai; the same thing our hair and nails are made out of. It's horns are pretty distinctive figures.

It is horrible that rhino's get killed for their horns. An extinct species of hornless rhinos was the largest land mammal of all time.

Guest what I just did; I have finally contacted the Montgomery Zoo. Rocky is his name, he was born on October 1st. He is an Indian rhino they have sharp hearing and a good sense of smell. You can find Rocky in the Asia part of the zoo. But the Indian rhino's come from India and Nepal.he has no favorite food yet he is still nursing. He has 2 hours of play time a day. The Indian rhino's habitat in the wild are, lowlands and swamps.

Ballet

Victoria Kelly

What is ballet? I want to write about ballet because it is a way of expressing yourself with your body. In ballet you use feet and arms together to interpret music and feelings or to tell a story. Dance is also exercise that we need to keep us healthy. In a usual dance class we warm up at the bar and then we go to the center for more exercise, strength, and balance. Then we practice new moves.
